I was wondering if it was intentional that the posts per day feature was taken out (I saw there was a code cleanup or something on October 19th in the Timeline), or if it's just Safari's fault (I've got 4.0.4). I really like that feature.

Does anyone think we should have an option to enter our operating system into our profiles? I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but even now I see people reasking for instructions because people give the wrong OS. Is this even possible? It would reduce the amount of posts people need to make.

I could definitely add in another text field to display it, I don't see why we couldn't make it a requirement when signing up.

PF?

That would be a good idea, but I don't think it's possible. Worth a shot though!

It would be like location or a contacct icon.

Are these things where you can like/dislike posts a new code or a proboards update?

Whoops, nvr mind, saw IRD's new post.

In an odd turn of events, the coder for the "make members read rules topic before posting" code posted today a complete reworking of the code that now works great, so I have implemented it. It works by setting a cookie in your browser that unless is there displays that message. Fortunately there is also an opt out feature, so if you clear your cookies often (I know I do, for cleaning purposes) just post here and I will add you to the list. All other questions/comments welcome as well.

Opt me out, as well. I'm using a portable version of Firefox, and it seems to reset every time I close my browser.

/sigh
Can we make this code staff opt-in so that it only is applied to spammers?
Having to keep re-reading the rules is quite annoying.

I've seen the read the rules thing once, and then never seen it again. Because I rarely clear my cookies.

Could I opt out, please? I've started using some other computers to access the forums, so it makes me read the rules every time.

The amount of opt-outs shows us just how terrible this system is. 99% of people click to read rules and close the page straight away without even reading the first sentence.
Should be removed IMO.

I don't think it's a bad system, if it wasn't for the pop I might not have found them as easily, get frustrated and clicked away.
I read the page (yay 1%), and even though many wouldn't, some will actually read it or do a quick browse through. To all the people who don't want to read the rules will get a warning level and learn that they SHOULD have read the rules, and they can't use the excuse "but I didn't see them" (not for others, but mainly as an excuse for themselves). So that'd be a lesson learned for them.

Also, the I'm not sure if you're relating the opt-outs to the 99% clicking away/it being a bad system? cause that's people opting out because their computer can't remember that they already read the rules, and will ask them to read it over and over again.

What Narvoxx said. It's staying. You could always just disable JS to get around it anyway if your browser can't save cookies properly or its on porn mode.
